Tote-ally awesome.

So many purses, totes, clutches and beach bags have caught our eye this season, especially anything in a pretty pastel or neutral tone. Of course we will always have a soft spot for stripes and scallops as well. Oh, and pineapples too.

It's all in the collar.

It's no secret that both Stef and I love a good collar! We know that a peter pan collar, or any oversized collar can be over the top in the cute factor and sometimes it's nice to not feel like we're dressing like 5 year olds, but who are we kidding, sometimes we just can't help ourselves! After perusing Etsy, we thought it fitting to show you our favorites out there at the moment! Prepare to fall in love!
This is by far our favorite collar to date! I need to learn how to sew so that I can recreate this collar!

A little lady-like neck tie on this vintage dress.

This one is petal-perfect! This shop has so many cute dresses we would love to get our hands on!

There is a pattern for this adorable dress here!

This yellow bow is the perfect add on to a classic black and white dress.

How fun is this collar!?

The perfect dress for a garden party...you'd blend right in!

A little flower power never hurt anybody, right?

Imagine showing up to a party in this little number! All eyes would definitely be on you!

Such a girly dress!

A little nautical love thrown in for good measure!

Our favorite gems from Bangkok!

Well, as usual we came back from our trip with a few fun additions to our closets (not that either of us needs any more clothes!) It's seriously impossible to walk out of a market empty-handed! There are just way too many cute collars and bright colors! Here are a few of our favorite pieces from this time around:

*I know many of you have asked us where exactly we got all of these items but the majority of them were purchased at random vendors on the streets and in the markets. Sorry we can't be more specific friends! However if you are ever in Bangkok you should be sure to check out the Chatuchuk weekend market... plenty of goodies there!*

Stef's favorite pieces are:
a flared denim skirt, a bright green and orange checkered dress, a brown polka dot dress with an oversized peter pan collar, a peach blouse, a color-block mod mini dress, a cropped cat print top, a tan collared dress with a backgammon print, and an adorable black and white mini dress with orange floral print.

Erin's favorite pieces are:
A fun polka dot & heart print party dress, a cream dress with bird print, a green mod mini dress, a mustard cropped top with polka dots, two cute purses, a vintage floral mini dress, a fringe Chang tank top and a pink and red floral dress with tie.

Playful vintage playsuits!

One thing we love about going on holidays is hunting for a new swimsuit! We searched high and low before we went, and came across a lot of really incredible vintage pieces from the 50's that weren't all swimsuits, but rompers, and playsuits too, and we couldn't help but sharing them with you! We love the fact that they can be either the most flattering thing you own, or the least! It's always such a gamble, but it's so fun looking for the perfect one!

You can shop these awesome vintage swimsuits/rompers here:

Cozy looks we love.

We know that we should be thinking of Spring, but with the crazy snow and temperatures that we have had yesterday and today, we can only think of cozy things! Have a happy (and cozy) day!
Love this look and this gorgeous girl's haircut!

Such a pretty collar on a fun, colorful knit (original photo source unknown).

Ok, ok...we slipped a little pop of Spring in here, but we couldn't resist sharing this photo!
I need a bob and a beret, stat!

Lauren Moffatt can do no wrong, and this cozy look is proof.

Oh, Orla Kiely, we are loving all of the looks for Fall/Winter 2013!

Every piece is unique and carefully hand-picked by its' founder, Andy Chow who is also an architectural designer.

We love Andy's shop and are so happy to have Standard Vintage as a sponsor this month.  We love the colors, prints and of course the collars on so many of the clothes!

Something old & something new.

It's no secret that we wear a lot of dresses, but a lot of people think we only wear vintage because we own a vintage shop, but this is far from true! We do however like to mix and match old and new, so we thought we would put together a little mish-mash of old and new styles that look strikingly similar! We love them both! Which do you prefer-old or new?

MR. BEAN(IE)

Why do we call this piece of fashion a Beanie?
The cloth covered button on the crown is about the size of a bean and may be the origin of the term "beanie," though some academics believe that the term is derived from a type of headgear worn in some medieval universities. The yellow hats ("bejaunus," that is, "yellowbill" later "beanus," a term used for both the hats and the new students) evolved into the college beanies of later years. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the etymology is uncertain, but probably derives from the slang term "bean", meaning "head". (text from Wikipedia, pics via Tommy Ton)

What We Wore to Work: B.A.I.T. Shoes.

Even though it is another chilly January day, the weather is not going to stop us from dressing up a bit! Lately it feels like our feet have been held hostage in our clunky winter boots so we decided that today we needed to break free from that and wear some cute shoes to work. Oh, how we've missed this! Our lovely friends over at B.A.I.T. footwear were generous enough to send us each a pair of pretty new shoes, and we absolutely love them! Now, if only the weather would co-operate with us...
