Sun kissed.

It's crazy to think that Summer is quickly coming to a close, but I can honestly say it's been one of the best and here are a few more instagram photos to prove it!
I got my moped back from my sister's boyfriend Craig, and it's running like a dream! I've been taking it to work to save on parking and I'll be so sad when the riding season comes to an end!

My good friends Sam & Tristan got married this weekend! I probably had the most fun ever next to my own wedding. We ate, we drank, we mingled and we DANCED! I camped out on the yard with a bunch of our friends and it's going to be one of those nights that I remember (for the most part) for ever.

A few weeks back a bunch of our friends spent the day helping them get the yard ready. They had the party inside what used to be Tristan's father's greenhouse, but they spent a lot of time sprucing the place up beforehand. We put a layer of limestone down and packed it, strung up the lights, and moved lots of stuff around. The blisters on my hands were well worth it! The place looked so stunning!
The wedding was on a huge yard and they have sheep, chickens and even a donkey! Rusty & Gobi the donkey. Too cute.

We had a bbq the night before the wedding and i'm pretty sure there's nothing better than corn on the cob on the bbq.

We found this log with convenient branches and I thought it would be great for hanging signs off of!

I spent the day helping set up again the day before the wedding and had the pleasure of making this balloon wall for as a backdrop for the photobooth! I can't wait to see the photos from it!

In other shocking news, my husband Derek surprised me on our anniversary last week and had cut off 3 years worth of hair! He hadn't cut it since our wedding, but our pal Amy over at Freshair gave him a new look and i couldn't love it more! My hair on the other hand looks a little crazy due to the CRAZY rain that poured as the party started.

There was no shortage of attractive babies and guests!

A small amount of the aftermath. Passion Pop! The life of the party! I drank this a lot when I was in Australia years ago and recently found out that they sell it in Saskachewan! Sam (the bride) has a cousin who brought me a case of it and we drank every last bottle.

Last week Derek & I celebrated our 3rd anniversary and we went to two of our favorite restaurants - Fude for toadstool puff, sangria and chili chocolate chicken skewers and then off to Deseo for more cocktails and food! All of the food was amazing, but unfortunately the night ended early because I came down with a fever, but we had such a lovely time celebrating!

A week or two ago I found a beautiful vintage couch & chair on Kijiji and I had emailed the woman and never heard back. The next day the listing was taken down so I was a little bummed that I didn't snag the beauty. A day later I got an email from a woman and I recognized the name right away - she's a customer at our shop and it turned out that she bought it and her husband hated it so she contacted the woman that listed it for the list of people that had contacted her and I was at the top of the list! Long story short it was meant to be mine and is now sittin' pretty in my completely re-arranged living room (for the second time this Summer!). I will post pictures of it soon I promise!

Our weather has been pretty weird this Summer. It started out super hot in July and then temperatures dropped and it almost felt like Fall was here all too early! That said, we got a heat wave this past week so I packed up my car and headed out to the country with my sister and my friend Janelle who was out from Montreal. We sat by the pool all day and walked around under the almost full moon after stuffing our faces with mexican food and lots of wine at my parents' place. Pretty sure there's nothing better than wandering around in the country during harvest with tight sun-kissed skin, unruly beachy hair and bare feet.

I hope you've had an amazing Summer so far and be sure to soak up what's left of it!

Three years and counting.

Wowee Maui! I can't believe that today Derek and I are celebrating our third wedding anniversary! It feels like so much longer than that because we've been together for over 8 years already, I guess time really does fly when you're having all of the fun! We have literally travelled the world together and the road hasn't always been smooth sailing, but through it all this man has stuck by my side and I will love him forever for it. Derek is the most patient and kind man that I know and as a bonus he puts up with me and my crazy antics! I'm a lucky lucky girl!

A little more recent, this photo is from my cousin's wedding celebration a few weeks ago. They were married in Taiwan back in February, but had a party to celebrate with family and friends when they came to Canada for the Summer.

These two photos were taken on a trip to Thailand & Bali from a few years back when Stef & I took our husbands along with us. We're pretty lucky that we get to bring our handsome help along with us every once and awhile!

This one's from Derek's 30th birthday this Summer. He really is just the best guy I know.

Here's a blast from the past. Both of these were taken in our first year of dating. We used to go to the airport and dream of trips together, and every time we went we would take photos in the photobooth. Little did we know how much we would actually travel together in the future!

Rudy, I love you more than you will ever know. Here's to many more anniversaries together!

Backyard birthday.

This past weekend we celebrated Emery's birthday by having some of our close friends come over for a party in our (newly re-done) backyard. When we bought our new house it was winter and there was still at least three feet of snow on the ground so we didn't know what to expect as far as landscaping and yard condition... and unfortunately there wasn't too much going on. A lot of patchy grass and weeds was basically what our backyard consisted of. Sort of a bummer, but hey, that just gave us total freedom to create whatever type of patio, deck, or entertaining area we wanted! We decided that the best remedy for patchy ugly grass was to build a big deck (obviously we could have also re-seeded it too, but there are just so many big trees in our area that it makes lush green grass very tricky to maintain, besides Emery is a total sucker for a building project.) So we spent the previous few weeks planning and building in hopes that maybe, just maaaaybe, we would have the backyard up to par by Emery's birthday weekend. Sometimes it just helps to have a deadline, even if it seems slightly unattainable, ya know?

Well guys, low and behold, we actually pulled it off! The backyard looks so much better and is actually so much more functional for entertaining now! I am so excited that we were able to get this done in time to still be able to enjoy spending some warm summer days out here. We had our first party this weekend and we dusted off our old film camera to document the occasion. We listened to music, ate cheese, drank wine and hung out with close friends on a gorgeous August summer evening.

(Psst... Emery also got pretty much the best birthday present ever: we got a hot tub! So we also did some late night hot tubbing as well.)

For some reason this ends up happening at all of Emery's birthdays, ha.

All in all it was an amazing night. A big thanks to all of our lovely friends for celebrating with us. You guys are the best.

Birthday boy.

This summer marks a decade from when Emery and I first met and started dating. Holy moly, 10 YEARS you guys! Whoa. They aren't kidding when they say time flies. I realize that I am a bit young to be able to say that I have been in a relationship for a decade (we met when I had just finished tenth grade and was a mere 16 years old) but hey, when you meet the person that you know you're gonna marry, age doesn't really matter.

We have been through so much over the last decade; many trips, many adventures, many challenges, and so many laughs. I took the above photo in Los Angeles in one of the few authentic tiki bars left in America. (For those of you interested, it's called Tiki-Ti and is definitely worth a visit.)

Hands down one of our favorite things to do together is travel and explore new places. I was looking through some of our old photos and the majority of them were taken in different cities during our travels throughout the years. I started to feel a little nostalgic so I thought seeing as how it is his birthday today I would take you guys on a little trip down memory lane through our relationship history.

I just want to say a special happy birthday to the love of my life. Who knew that ten years ago when I met you as an eighteen year old kid that we would be where we are now. It's pretty incredible to think about. I can't wait to see what the next decade brings.

So much love my darling,
XO, Stef

My trip to the mountains.

This past weekend my husband and I were lucky enough to drive out West with my parents to Canmore, Alberta. We went out there for my cousin's wedding and almost my entire Reimer family trickled in on Friday and the rest came on Saturday. It was so amazing to be together with my whole family in such a magnificent setting. I hadn't been to the Canadian Rockies in 10 years and I had forgotten how breathtaking they are! I might be going back in October for another wedding on Derek's side of the family and I can hardly wait!
The 15 hour drive out went by pretty quickly, and I couldn't help but snap a couple of photos of old (or funny) motels along the way.

Stopping in small towns for greasy breakfasts is always a highlight. How fun is this table top?

Pretty sunrise on the Canadian Rockies. We made it!

A couple of bottles of wine (and fireball) were consumed on this trip, and this was one of my favorites! I'm such a sucker for cute labels.

This was the view from our balcony...not too shabby hey? On the right you can see two of the three sister mountains.

My sister, the wanderer. I took this on a hike one beautiful morning. There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh mountain air!

My parents were incredibly generous with us kids on the trip so we whipped up a bbq feast in our hotel to say thanks. The hotel we stayed at was picture perfect and had a porch with a bbq as well as a full kitchen in our suite.

Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding! Meet my cousin Maiya papaya- she is the cutest and sassiest 4 year old on the block and I love this girl to bits. My sister made her floral crown upon request after our hike where we picked all of the flowers.

They did it! Congratulations Bill & Meagan!

We ate, we drank and we danced.

After 3 hours of sleep the night after the wedding, my dad and Derek and I hopped back in the car and started the long journey through the prairies home. No road trip is complete without a stop at Syl's Drive In, in Carman, MB.
All in all, a little mountain fresh air was just what I needed. It was such an amazing trip spent with my crazy family and I'm so lucky that I could sneak away from work for it.
